It may also be enlarged ( abdominal cavity due to
tumors. We experienced this with a ferret that
upon exploratory had 3 golf ball sized
masses and several more in the intestinal tract.

Other ferrets we cared for were enlarged due to
fluid, but perhaps an ultrasound could reveal the
true cause of the abdominal emlargement.
