First off, thank you to all that posted a reply or e-mailed me personally.

Sadly, Rascal recieved her mercy shot at 5:30am Thursday morning.

I don't know what was wrong but let me tell you how the night went. As I wrote before at 8pm Wednesday night, I found Rascal very weak and moving to her right side. She was very alert and didn't seem to be in pain, so I made her comfortable and was planning on getting her to the vet early Thursday morning. I stayed with her all night, offering her chicken soup every two hours. She was eating very well. Throughout the night I noticed that she was urinating alot. The poor little girl, even though she was so weak, managed to get to the paper every time she needed to potty.

A little before 5am, I was feeding her and she started having violent seizures. She had at least 5 in 15 min. I rushed her to the emergency vet. We quickly checked her blood sugar and it was not the problem. By this time the violent seziures had stopped, but she was still having little ones. The vet, without any diagnostic work, was pretty sure that it was something neurological. I choose to not let her suffer and helped her to cross as peacefull as possible.

Rascal joined her brother Porter and her sisters Baby Girl, Mika and Arwen at the bridge.

Again, thanks for the replys.

Erin

[From the description a variety of things could
have been possible. Do get any other ferrets in
the household checked for any of the possible
contagious causes such as ADV (Aleutian Disease
Virus) also written as AD because you will want
to be safest.
