Subject: [ferrethealth] Lighting in the ferret room
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi Everyone, This is about the light exposure in my ferret room. I now have their room pitch black with no sunlight or light bulbs. What I need to know is this: Do they need the Sunlight but no light bulbs? How does this work? And I was also wondering if I put a small plug in night light in the room if that would defeat the purpose. When their room is completely dark you cannot see anything at all. Can they see in the dark at all? I feel kinda bad about the total pitch blackness in there. They basicly have free roam of the house so when they are out of their room playing they do have sunlight during the day and artificial light in the evening. They all six automatically go back to their room to sleep when they are tired. They are in the total darkness for at least 14 hours a day but it is not all at once. Would that make any difference? I just want to do whatever I can to do right for them. They mean the world to me..... Thanks, Anita
