Subject: [ferrethealth] Starting ferret on Lupron
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hi Everyone, Ive been noticing beginning signs of adrenal disease in my little girl Cocoa who is 3 1/2 years old. I took her to her vet wanting to get started on Lupron before she actually develops the disease. I actually wanted to try to get her on Deslorelin if my vet was able to get it but no she is not able to get it which I figured beforehand but thought I would ask to be sure. Anyways, The vet wants to charge me 130.00 to send bloodwork for the Tennessee Panel saying she needs that done before we can start the Lupron. I know my ferret. And I have dealt with Adrenal ferrets before and I am positive she will eventually have it full force. Is there any reason I would need the test done before starting the Lupron? It is my understanding that Lupron will not hurt them if by chance it were not needed. Is this correct? I just want to get Cocoa started on something asap. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

and never forgetting my Pepe,Doofy,Sammy,Levi,Sissy
