Subject: [ferrethealth] Early Symptoms of Adrenal Disease
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a 4 year old male neutered ferret.=A0 He has a couple of problems on=
e being possible early adrenal disease.=A0 The other was his stool sample h=
ad all one type of spore forming bacteria (we're thinking C. Diff.) for whi=
ch he has undergone two courses of Clavamox.=A0 Now the bacteria content of=
his stools seems more normal but he still has some really loose stools whi=
ch are yellow/brown, greenish (some).=A0 Some times his stools are closer t=
o normal but still soft.=A0 The real reason for this post is to see if he i=
s having early signs of adrenal disease.
=A0
He never likes new ferrets when we get them and the last little girl (Kita)=
we adopted, was 22 months ago.=A0 Initially he and the other two we have w=
ho don't like newbies picked on her but things settled down after a few mon=
ths (we kept guard to make sure everything was okay during the transition).=
=A0 So after the settling in period (6 months-ish) everything seemed to be =
okay with a few little squabbles (that she usually started).=A0=A0He might =
attacker once every other week or so.=A0 Never draw blood but would make he=
r poop fly, so to speak.=A0 This has increased lately to once every other d=
ay or so, as well as he seems to be picking on his cage mates once in a whi=
le (four times that we know of).=A0 He sleeps with his cage mates and has e=
ven slept with Kita during play time.=A0 His fur is full and soft no signs =
of thinning.=A0 He does have a funny smell from time to time kind of like p=
lastic when it gets too hot, like when a radio is burning out.
=A0
It sounds like early adrenal disease to me but I'm not sure.
=A0
Thanks
=A0
Mike
