Sukie asked about other ferrets treating deslorelin-implanted ferrets as though they are kits--we too have noticed that within a couple of weeks after her deslorelin implant, our male ferret Edgar (~3.5) started grabbing Sisiutl (~4.5) by the neck and dragging her around, sometimes trying to stash her in the usual hiding spots. He did exhibit some mounting behavior towards her before the implant, but this is different. I too have wondered whether this change is due to her chemistry, or his, or perhaps both. He's due for his annual exam pretty soon, so I figured I'd talk to the vet about it then.
Sisiutl is not a ferret to take this kind of treatment lightly, Edgar gets a healthy dose of furious little white weasel when he lets go ;-)
