My female, Chewie, was just short of 2 when I first noticed her vulva swell=
ing.=C2=A0 She then blew her coat and was nearly bald from the waist down.=
=C2=A0 I took her to a ferret knowledgable vet who told me not to worry abo=
ut it, the fur would grow back during the next shed cycle.=C2=A0 Sure enoug=
h, that winter she grew in a beautiful, soft coat.=C2=A0 The recovery was s=
hort-lived though and she developed full blown adrenal disease within the y=
ear.=C2=A0 By the time she was officially diagnosed through blood work she =
had the cancerous form of adrenal disease and I lost her at the age of 3.
=C2=A0
Please do not use age as an excuse for it NOT to be adrenal disease.=C2=A0 =
The onset of adrenal disease at a young age is rare, certainly, but not unh=
eard of.=C2=A0
