Is it normal for fixed females to go into a heat cycle or have hormone changes?

Sadly age is not always indicative of the possibility of adrenal problems.
My female Asia had a swollen vulva at 6 months old, we thought possibly she had retained ovarian tissue from her spay but the hair loss soon followed and at 10 months old she had surgery to have a large left adrenal carcinoma removed. Adrenal issues can happen even to very young ferrets. 3 months after surgery her symptoms returned. At that time we decided to try lupron monthly and melatonin implants. Two years later she is still doing pretty well and a most happy and active girl.
Get her started on treatment, if her symptoms go then you will know what it is and treatment is already underway.
