Alternatively, although vaginal infections are
not common some can be hard to treat (having been
in that situation with Whizbang) so the vet will also
check for that possibility. I guess that in our decades
with ferrets we have probably encountered 4 with that
problem. Such an infection is also something to have
checked rapidly.

If only one side is up then an apocrine tumor or apocrine
cyst becomes a possibility and that, too, is a reason to
get rapid care.

There ARE resources to help find a ferret vet. Most are
lists of vets who have been recommended mostly by
people with ferrets such as
