The injection given was most likely Lupron. It is costly but, in my experience, also very effective. I personally no longer opt for surgery but go with lupron alone instead. I've seen very good results, better then I'd ever seen with surgery. Keep in mind that with surgery unless every bit of adrenal tissue is removed the disease will progress as surgery does not suppress hormones at the pituitary level.
Deslorelin implants are an alternative though I personally have some concerns with them.
As for the ultrasound, don't waste your money.
