Based on my experiences, I must disagree. The majority of my ferrets (28 in total, 19 confirmed adrenal, over the past 9 years) have been diagnosed at under 2 years of age, my youngest being only 5 months of age (confirmed by both the TN panel and surgery).
I think the reason many assume adrenal disease is mainly a disease in older ferrets is because the early signs are often missed/dismissed in younger ferrets. I would bet if the TN panel were run on every ferret between the ages of 1 and 2 years old a good many would come back positive for adrenal disease, despite not showing any commonly recognized symptoms.
