I personally don't use the A/D, although we use it for our soup at the ferret rescue, and really helps the little ones gain and maintain weight. Also, use chicken thighs - I boil about 6 for 30 minutes, put meat and skin in food processor with water and puree. Real chicken is better for your ferret than chicken baby food - they get more nutritional benefits from it. BUT if you need to syringe feed him, use the baby food bc the chicken, even though it is puree, will still have small pieces that will clog the syringe. good luck.

[FHL veterinarians have asked us to always remind people that
if they are going to try syringe feeding to learn it hands on
from a veterinarian or a vet tech. The reason is because if it
is done wrong (or if the person gets unlucky) aspiration of the
slurry can happen. This can not only make it hard for the ferret
to breathe sometimes if too much is inhaled but it can also cause
aspiration pneumonia.

The original poster knows this, but some FHL readers may not.
