The vets at Michigan State University, who have been doing
the research with the ferret coronaviruses (ECE and FIP-like
disease), need more samples. If you have a ferret with the systemic
coronavirus (FIP-like disease) or if you have a ferret with the "greenies"
(green mucoid diarrhea, ECE) they would like fecal samples. If you
have a ferret with the FIP-like disease they would like feces and
tissue samples from biopsies (or from autopsy). For those of you who
have a shelter or recently adopted a ferret with ECE from a shelter please
send fecal samples to help this valuable research.
Please have your vet contact Dr Matti Kiupel at Michigan State University
for more info.
