Does anyone know, is it possible for Lupron to cause a drop in blood
glucose? Our Nicky had a Lupron shot a week ago Friday and has not acted quite
right since. Progressively lower energy level. We took him today and the
"stand in" Doc did a BG check. It came back at 48. We started him on 1/4 tablet
of a 5mg tablet once a day. Four weeks ago we did full blood work and it
was normal, however it had come back slightly low in previous blood work. We
took him to the emergency clinic tonight because he was breathing heavy
and the Dr. there, who knew nothing about ferrets, asked us if the Lupron
shot could cause the glucose to drop.
Can anyone answer that for us?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tiffany

[Prednisolone is often a better choice than
Prednisone, and either should be given two
or three times per day rather than once
because the med wears off in faster than
24 hours.
