I have had a ferret on lupron and never had any problem with that, but when she first started she was tired the first day or so. She also would throw up when it was time for the next shot. Unfortunatley, she passed away in December due to the tumor on her left adrenal spreading to her kidney. It is a good idea to keep corn syrup in the house. Mix a little with a small amount of water and give it to your ferrets. This helps in a pinch to get the blood sugar back up. It is in no way meant as a reason to not go to the vet. I have had 2 ferrets with insuloma. Both were on pred 5:5 mix 1.5 ml twice a day. It is a good idea to also ask for gastricalm or carafate, this will help prevent stomach ulcers. I had 2 ferrets that were on that combination for close to 3 years. They have both passed on from other complications. Hope this helps you.
