You can give her the antibiotics half-way through the meal. As long as she has something in her tummy is the key.

According to an earlier post by Dr. Williams the dose he recommends for Carafate is 75mg/kg. How much you give from this recommendation depends on her weight and strength (i.e., mgs/ml) of the medication.

Now so you don't get further confused, in these posts Dr. Williams suggests 10 minutes before a meal, that is only assuming you are not giving other medications soon after as well.

I tend to play it by ear since ferrets are so individual. For example, if 0.3 alleviates the grinding then that is what I give. With something like Carafate there is some lee-way. With antibiotics you have to give the exact dose.

Now you are saying that even at 0.6 she is still grinding, so I would probably not lower that dose. I'm sure your vet used a pharmacy formulary like Carpenter's to work out the dose.

I forgot to ask - but what are you feeding her? Should be bland, easily digestible food (A/D and/or chicken baby food) staying off the kibble until you don't see any more teeth grinding. When she stops grinding add some ground or mushed up kibble to the bland soup. If she starts grinding again, cut back on the kibble, etc.
