Hi Ulrike,
Diazoxide is foul tasting, no matter how compounded. As a consequence it is not very palatable. I had a ferret who was on it exclusively because of being immuno-comprised he couldn't be on pred. However, giving it to him was a chore each and every time. He absolutely HATED it.
It may be that the ferret is simply reacting to the taste. Doing a BG after might give a better idea whether its not working well for him. It doesn't work for every ferret. Is there a reason he can't be on pred?
