Subject: [ferrethealth] Foster- post surgical diabetes - glucose rising today - sigh
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Just talked to my vet's clinic. BG is now 288. Seems like if it keeps rising today he is still diabetic. Not sure if we'll be going to the em.clinic for the night again. This reminds me of a difficult ferret years ago whose glucose if I remember correctly was difficult to control with small amts of the insulin.

If I remember correctly she said we may have to try 0.25 of an unit - which will be 1/4 of the smallest division on the insulin syringe. Has anyone had success controlling diabetes in a ferret who seems to plunge given 1 unit of the PZIinsulin?
