That is an extremely high dose for starters.

>From 'Adrenal Gland Disease in ferrets' by Elisabeth Simone-Freilicher, DVM, DABVP (2008):

The GnRH agonist most commonly used in ferrets is leupro-
lide acetate, 100 to 150 mcg/kg per month. (Lupron Depot, TAP
Pharmaceuticals, Lake Forest, Illinois). Initially, the agonist hyperstimu-
lates GnRH receptors, resulting in a negative feedback that down-regulates
GnRH receptors, and the production of gonadotropin, which stimulates ad-
renal production of steroids. In most ferrets, most clinical signs re-
solve within 6 to 8 weeks, although some ferrets retain a thin pelage or
poor regrowth of tail hair (p. 134).

And important for you to note:

Bicalutamide (Casodex, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals,
Wilmington, Delaware) is dosed at 5 mg/kg by mouth every 24 hours, and
must be given with an antigonadotropin medication (such as Lupron),
because it can increase levels of testosterone and estradiol when used alone. (p. 134-135)
