I honestly don't know the answer to your question but for Propecia/
Proscar or Avodart can't your vet just call either one in to a
compounding pharmacy which is used to helping ferrets, and then you
can have them sent to you, or you can pick them up if that pharmacy is
close enough? That is what we do for non-standard meds instead of
waiting for meds to reach the vet. The one we use is in Plainfield,
NJ which is pretty close to us, and it ships pretty well anywhere in
the nation, plus it is highly accredited, but there are compounding
pharmacies in most of the continental U.S.

If you go to the Files section of the FHL website you will find a list
of compounding pharmacies which FHL members have recommended.

Just go to
http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/ferrethealth/
and notice
Files
in the menu on your left and click that open

Compounding pharmacies are about halfway down so just click that file
open. First there are some in other nations which FHL members
recommended, and then there is the list by state name. In Georgia I
see one in Marietta, one in Alabama, in Florida there are four
recommended ones, one in South Carolina, three in North Carolina...

You will also notice in the Files section of the FHL website that
right below the compounding pharmacies mention there is a mention of a
list there of veterinarians who FHL members have recommended for
ferrets. If you click that open it will take you to the FHL Vets site
and you will find that you can search by zip code or by state. (Yes,
there are non-U.S. vet listings there, too.) 17 vets are listed in
GA, 7 in AL, 43 in FL, 5 in South Carolina, and 38 in North Carolina.

Some may have moved, of course, but it looks like you may be able to
find options.
