Since I have to give sub q's by myself I am usually lucky at giving them some duck soup which occupies their minds while I give them their fluids...I do this on a table that gives me leverage above them..I may at times have to sort of do a slight left handed scruff while they are eating just till the needle goes in..then after that they just don't care!!! Good luck...
