Hi,

I have only had one ferret with pancreatitis and my vet and I received guidance from a ferret expert vet in the U.S. who had experience with pancreatitis. The clinical symptoms she displayed were:

- functional obstruction (no actual obstruction but all the signs of an obstruction, including obstructed barium exit). Exploratory surgery was done - no obstruction found.
- fluid loss into abdomen (ongoing hydration becomes critical and is the primary supportive care)
- vomiting
- generalized malaise
- anorexia and inappetance
- total protein levels abnormally low
- lipase levels off
- extreme teeth grinding

There may be others - these are the ones Sadie experienced. She was heavy care for 2 weeks, including IV hydration and at-home daily subQ hydration and a whack of meds until she stabilized.
