Subject: [ferrethealth] SAM-e dosing
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello all,
April has recently had issues with lack of appetite and nausea. No vomiting and her stools are normal. Her blood work showed elevated liver enzymes (not sure which at the moment) and our vet recommended using SAM-e to help with this. The pills are huge and I've been splitting them and dissolving for administration (not ideal, I know but the only option I have for now). I've researched for a liquid SAMe and found one through Cellfood that has no alcohol or glucose. Have any of you used this? If so, how many drops did you use? Any other suggestions for a liquid form or alternatives for administration of this stuff? I had a bad experience with administering pills to a ferret in the past so want to avoid giving pills to her.

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Lucie
