I was very glad to read that Rufus is doing better. I would have the
vet check his blood glucose and if it is still significantly below
normal then I'd ask about increasing the pred dosage a bit farther.
You may still see more improvement.
At age nine I wouldn't worry about consequences of long term pred use.
I'd just worry about keeping Rufus as happy and as comfy as possible
for as long as he lives.
