It's my understanding that if you leave the undescended testicle in the body cavity longer than 2 - 3 years, it can cause cancer issues down the road. That's what I've heard from the dog people, anyway.
Unfortunately, we are seeing a huge increase in testicular issues with ferrets in certain lines just in the last 6 years :(
I would ask your breeder if they are open to having your vet remove the undescended testicle surgically, but leave the one that has descended.
