In terms of Lupron Depot - the dose can be increased. From 'The Senior Fer=
ret (Mustela Putorius Furo)' by Sharman M. Hoppes, DVM, DABVP-Avian, Vet Cl=
in Exot Anim 13 (2010) 107=96122.

"The recommended dosage is 100 to 500 mg/kg intramuscularly
or subcutaneously every 3 to 8 weeks. Dosage and interval vary depending on=
individuals(p. 113)."

Deslorelin is another option, however, given his age and the amount of time=
it would require your vet to import it from Australia, it probably is not =
a practical option.

He should be evaluated for prostatic disease secondary to adrenal disease a=
nd treated accordingly. Ultrasound of the prostate by a skilled and ferret=
experienced ultrasound radiologist should confirm if there are prostatic i=
ssues, i.e., cysts, etc. In addition have his urine cultured to rule out in=
fection.

However, I suspect his deteriorating condition may also be due to lymphoma,=
even though the lymph node biopsy was inconclusive.=20

e vet I go to is an exotic vet (they don't use melatonin because they don't=
think it works but they did it for me) They also say 250mcg Lupron is the =
max that they usually use per month. Are some of the other drugs talked ab=
out on here worth trying? Can the Lupron be increased further? Will it ev=
en help?? Would surgery do anything at this point? (He is 8 years old and =
now only 850grams)
