To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

Her stomach being packed with food sounds like the problem. She may have a blockage from a bad furball (which would explain the slow-moving barium), or she might have a tumor within the stomach or intestines that is blocking or inhibiting digestion and proper food movement.

Have you ever given her laxatives in the past to help keep her clear of furballs (such as Ferretlax, or similar products) ? It may be too late for that now, and if left with no recourse, then you might have to have the vet go back in to the stomach to find out the cause of the blockage and if she can be saved.

One last thought is something that happened to me after surgery. The doctor had to inject air into my abdomen to do a hernia surgery, but the excess air/gas lingered for several days and caused severe pain. Might the vet have injected air at any point?

I hope you are able to figure it out and get her to recover.
