First off, I would like to thank everyone for their suggestions, the response has been overwhelming and appreciated. As a result I was able to request the metoclopramide and the Tramadol which has made a HUGE difference as she does not seem as drugged nor nauseous as she did 24 hours ago when on Buprenorphine. (Thank you Tressie for the suggestion!)
Even better- she came home with me! She is actually eating and drinking on her own which I have not seen her do in 2 months, although it does appear to be a little excessive for a one who was being force fed just yesterday. She had 3 bowel movements today whereas before only one (or none) She is not active nor too alert though and falls over when she walks. The doctor gave her Valium before he sent her home. She appears over drugged to me.
She is not on Prednisolone so I am interested in the previous posts thinking that this would perhaps help any inflammation she may have, from whatever cause. (btw she does not have insulinoma, adrenal ect.) Like yours Tressie, she did have a huge distended stomach seen during exploratory, like the Doctor said, it was packed with food and Barium liquid. I am very interested in hearing what you will learn from your experience.
As of today the vet took her off the metoclopramide...from everything I am reading should I perhaps request that she stay on it? The doctor said where she is eating and moving her bowels that she did not need to be on it.
The way she grinds her teeth has changed (if that makes sence) It appears to only be on the right side and has become a small quiet movement.
Today the Doctor did say that in hindsight he should have biopsied the stomach...he said he did not because everything LOOKED so normal. His regret makes me worry.
Pathology report is in and I am waiting for the doctors call. Let's see what kind of news it is...
