All the literature on Metacam (Meloxicam) emphasizes that it should NOT be =
used together with corticosteroids such as pred, dex, etc.

Tramadol is a much better analgesic that is compatible with pred and is non=
-sedating. However, the oral suspension is very bitter and not palatable. =
I use the injectible form and give it sub-q. Your vet can show you how to =
do this.
