Subject: [ferrethealth] belly hair loss
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

My 5.5 year old ferret Clementine had left adrenal surgery in February, and
for the past month has had hair thinning on the lower belly so that there
is an area that is nearly bald, bi-lateral. Her vulva is normal and
behavior fairly normal, possibly slightly aggressive but not much. Energy and
food intake etc is all fine. No hair loss on tail, a small amount of hair
loss on inside of back legs. In researching the archives, it looks like this
could be adrenal - either right or continuing issues with the left, or
both. I called our very experienced and wonderful vet and he suggested that
it would be rare for her to already have a problem and to keep an eye on
her rather than bringing her in. I think I need to get her in to see him.
Opinions? Thanks.
Lisa
