Hi, Mike,
If you are that worried I would certainly get him to the vet. If
we're talking about opening him up to get a biopsy it will be up to
the vet to decide if he's strong enough to survive the surgery. If
so, you are probably best off knowing what is really wrong and getting
him the proper treatment. If not the vet may have new ideas after
examining him again.
