DO remember that if both adrenals come
out fully (or if an extreme debulking (removal
of the bulk of the tumor )is done, or if one
adrenal comes out but the other is atrophied
(something which can happen from suppression
or from Lysodren use -- and that is a medication
which is usually advised against even considering
these days due to many problems which vary among
individual ferrets) then medications will be needed
to replace the corticosteroids the adrenal normally
produces. Prednisolone will replace ones that go a
long way to preventing dehydration, and using EITHER
percorten injections every three weeks OR Fludrocort/Florinef
daily orally will prevent fatal electrolyte imbalance.
