Was it the Suprelorin implant or just horse deslorelin?

The regular deslorelin is cheaper but won't work for the
same reason that the 24 hour Lupron needs to be avoided.

This class of meds at first can actually worsen symptoms
because its mode of action causes an initial release of
even more LH, but then it begins working as needed,
so the short term drugs don't work and can actually
worsen things. The drugs that release over time do work,
though, for many.

Our Mornie has some life style improvement from the
Suprelorin implant, but of course, she is fighting a large
carcinoma (and it looks like what we though was an
going to be an epithelioma in a very bad place (right next
to an eye) for surgery -- even for individuals who do better
with surgery than Morney does -- may instead be something
else (perhaps hemagiosarcoma) because just yesterday we
found a new, second one on the dorsal side of a forefoot toe.
So, even though vet visits stress this particular ferret she
should have those looked at.

For her the Suprelorin did not help re-grow any fur BUT
it really perked her up even beyond her usual high activity level.
She is just having the time of her life and dashes around like a kit.

Hilbert also had the implant and for him there also was a boost in
his activity, signs of happiness, and quality of life.

It feels very good to be able to so greatly improve the quality of
life for these two who are likely to each be in the final year. Lupron
has not had a similar effect, and I honestly don't know why, but
others have also spoken of this boost seen with Suprelorin.

We are thinking of it as a preventative for two who are in their 5th
years, and have asked out vet to go ahead and order it for those
two for us, please.

Info on how that class of meds work and why the 24 hour version
can spell trouble:
