Hello
Where i live there are no vets with ferret experience so although i realise that will be the first recomendation to my query i would appreciate it if anyone has other suggestions;
Tim is approx 4 year old hob
2 years ago I noticed his anal sacs were full,he has them emptied by a vet monthly now, lost hair on tail and his hair became dry
I put him on suprelorin, he has just had his 2nd injectin(the price by the way was 100 euros last year and is 190 euros this year)
He has been on Kibble all his life , approx 6 mths ago this kibble was changed to a diffrent brand, which he ate, I have just put him back on to the original brand
His usual weight was 950 grams but he is now down to 750 grams, he seems to be behaving normal apart from the weight loss which has been noticed over the last 2 months, he still has dry hair and has minimal hair loss all over, apart from ther tip of his tail which is bald, i have managed to get him to have some a/d wet food, but he doesnt like it so hes only getting about a tabelspoon twice a day
What should i be researching for, what do these symptoms mean i should be looking at first? What can I give him to stop the weight loss?
Many thanks
[Later addition follows]
sorry i havent told you that tim has been suffering, i think from gingevities
over the last year, he has has tablets, special toothpaste and recently a
convenya and depo mondeya injection, it has only been the injections that have
shown any sign of improvment, but i am told he will need these injections every
3 months for the rest of his life
Thank you
[That weight is down about 1/3rd of a pound to about 1.65 pounds.
If you want to convert that to pounds and ounces then readers can
do so on their own.
I can not find out what those two medications are in English though
I did search for generic terms. Is there a website which is good for
such searches?
