Subject: [ferrethealth] Milk thistle and Cryptococcosis
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I have a 2 year old female ferret who had a very swollen lymph gland under her foreleg. The vet removed it in surgery, and the pathology tests came back positive for Cryptococcosis (our second one-we had another one diagnosed about 6 years ago. We are trying to figure out what the common place is where they might be picking it up).

Peekaboo is now taking 0.5 ml of 10mg/ml itraconazole twice a day. I have read a few posts about using Milk Thistle to help deal with possible liver toxicity, but am having a hard time figuring out doseage. My girl is just under 1 kg. Any specifics would be appreciated as she will be taking this for a long time.

Thanks,
Shannon
