Subject: [ferrethealth] Glucose levels

Hi Everyone:
My ferret Razzle had blood work done recently and the vet said his glusose was 55 but she said it could of been low because his blood was sent to another office. What is the normal range supposed to be? He is 5yrs old and only weighs 2pds.

[Blood that is sent out does have the glucose level reduce
further. Isn't there someone near you who can do in-house
glucose readings for a ferret?
How much it would reduce would depend on how long it was
before reading so that number could still indicate a problem.
Go to the Files section and open the ferret vets list to see if there
is someone near you who may be able to test more accurately
for you.
