Subject: RE: [ferrethealth] Insulinomic Ferret - Bob's Chicken Gravy ok, or do I need to remove the honey?
To: <ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com>

Hi xxxxxxx,

I have been feeding Bob's Gravy to my ferrets, including those with
insulinoma for over 10 years now. I initially had concerns about the sugar
from honey and nutrical, and checked with Bob. He said not to take them
out. Sure enough, every ferret (and unfortunately there have been too many
with insulinoma over the years) has done very well and lived for a number of
years eating only the gravy (with meds of course). The only thing I did at
one time was left out the kibble, as Bob had suggested doing. When we had
difficulty keeping Merlin's bg stable, I mentioned it to my vet and he
suggested keeping the kibble in for the complex carbs. The difference was
amazing so ever since, when there an insulinomic ferret in the house, the
gravy includes kibble (we use Totally Ferret here). I hope this helps.

Lucie
