Yes he is still on pred and I've been very tempted to increase it.=C2=A0 I =
have a couple of time given him .65 mls and his normal dose is .5 mls of a =
1mg/1ml solution.=C2=A0 Once I gave him 1 ml out of desperation.

[Call the treating vet and ask for a call back to discuss this. Make
sure that you are giving Prednisolone rather than Prednisone. ECE
can temporarily diminish liver function and then Prednisone does
not work well. The reason for this is because to use Prednisone the
liver has to alter it to Prednisolone. So, when you give Prednisolone
right from the start you skip the liver processing step. So, check
the med type and discuss the dosing with the treating vet.

He is eating pureed turkey now and he can eat kibble on his own if he wants=
.=C2=A0 I will look into trying to get him a balanced diet.=C2=A0 I thought=
the turkey would be enough.=C2=A0 We include some of the organs that come =
with the turkey and boil down the bones and use the gravy when we pruee it.

[Flesh meat lacks many minerals, but the organs
and the bones do provide those. With ECE be SURE
to strain the bone portions well to make sure that
they are no more than powder, or use a different
edible source of calcium. It's rare, but in the archives
you will find some ferrets who could not cope with
bone and were injured. GI illnesses may increase that
risk. The vitamin aisle will have calcium sources.
Organs provide many minerals, for example, liver's
high level of copper which is needed for iron utilization
and more. Oh, and include some ground skin and
ground cartilage, too, if you can. Marrow can also
be useful.

His poops are usually loose diarrea sometimes dark brown, sometime tan with=
green tint, and sometime very foul smelling (which is what you see with EC=
E)
=C2=A0
I weighed him yesterday and he weighed 1 lbs 9.5 ounces which is about 12 o=
unces below his average weight.=C2=A0 The increased feedings and or turkey =
instead of chicken seems to be having an effect as he has a lot more energy=
and looks more alert.=C2=A0 We let him down on the living room which is no=
t ferret proof and they rarely get to see.=C2=A0 We watched him close and h=
e walked around exploring.=C2=A0 Also during play time earlier in the day h=
e was up and about more than normal.
=C2=A0
The sad thing was my wife went out shopping and could not get back on time =
to feed Sprout on the every three hour schedule so he only got one meal bet=
ween 8 am and 6:30 pm (at 1:00pm).=C2=A0 I weighed him at 6:30pm.
=C2=A0
We will keep working with him.=C2=A0 I expected my vet to call me last nigh=
t but he didn't so I'm sure he will call today.
=C2=A0
Take Care
