HI Carol,

If you buy chicken which has sodium added.. I recommend you :

A. unwrap it and put it into a large pot of cold water...

let it sit and drain the water after 2 hrs..

repeat.

Drain, then cook. The cold water soaks will help
remove the majority of the salt solution.. you
will likely loose some vitamins ... but it is
important to reduce those salts for the sake of the kidneys & heart!

[Remember to never leave raw meat out of the
refrigerator for too long, so try to soak in there
if you try this approach.

I could not find any resources on how to reduce
the salt content nor how well any approaches work.
