Subject: [ferrethealth] Flea meds

I am a bit confused about the proper flea medication for my babies. The vet I go to has always used Revolution for my cats and for my
ferrets. She said it is the safest and it is the only thing she would
ever suggest using on ferrets. Well anyways, we have fleas this year and that vet is making me pay for an exam for each individual ferret (6)
plus my 3 cats before she will prescribe the Revolution. So I called around to see if I can get it anywhere without the exam fees and I am
finding other exotic vets saying that they would never risk using Revolution on ferrets. I am hearing Advantage is the only one safe for them now........ What the heck?? Is this personal preference by the individual vet or what? Does anyone know or can you give me ideas as
to what the consensus is of other vets out there??? Thanks, Anita
