I have used Revolution for several years for all of our ferrets, under my vet's supervision. We use it from May - October, coinciding with mosquito season, as it will also prevent heartworm if the proper dosage is given. We initially were giving a whole tube of the Cat sized (5-15 lbs) per ferret, but last year and this year I have cut that down to 1/2 tube per ferret, once a month. Half a tube still gives them 22 mg of selemectin, and from studies I've read, 18 mg. should be plenty to prevent heartworms, in addition to all of the other parasites that it kills off (ear mites, fleas, ticks, etc). We have never had any side effects, even when using a whole tube per ferret, but there's no need to use a whole tube when half is just as effective.
