Subject: [ferrethealth] What happened?
To: email@example.com, F M L <ferret-L@listserv.ferretmailinglist.org>
We got a 6ish year old little girl yesterday.=A0 She looked to be in good h=
ealth and acted like it.=A0 When she was a kit she was abused but was rescu=
ed by some fine ferret people, who helped her through her fear.
She was a cuddlier and as sweet as could be.=A0 I cuddled with her for an h=
our last night as she fell asleep in my arms.=A0 Through the day today she =
go up and down to eat, drink, and use the litter box.
Because we have two ferrets who do not like newbies we decided to give ever=
yone a bath.=A0 This has helped when we got new ferrets before.=A0 We gave =
this new girl (Buffy) her bath and she behaved just like any other ferret d=
id after a bath.=A0 She ran around rubbing on the floor and towels to dry o=
ff.=A0She was almost completely dry when she started to act funny.=A0 She d=
idn't want to walk any where, just wanted to lay there.=A0 We gave her more=
attention and tried to give her ferretvitte or ferretone, but she wouldn't=
take any.=A0 We put some on her gums and in her mouth anyway.=A0 There was=
no change except to be more limp.=A0 We rushed her to the vet but she pass=
ed away in my arms on the way.
I can't understand what happened.
[So sorry for your loss.
The only way to know is with a necropsy with
pathology done. People can make guesses but
there are several possible causes.
