This would be reason for a visit to an emergency vet. When you have an
urgent situation, it's always best to get direct veterinary assistance.

Those on the list help as much as we can, but even the best vet reading an
email message is no substitute for someone who can touch, hear, see, and
directly treat.

I would definitely have him seen by a good vet asap.

[Excellent advice. That is what was advised off-list
as soon as that incoming post was seen even before
approval, and a bit of emergency information was sent.
Nothing ever does or ever can replace veterinary care.
