Another vet has replied privately on this
10 week old ferret who is going bald and
suggested that among the thing the
treating vet will look for are:
1. hormone toxicity (if anyone in the house has hormone
meds or products)
2. adrenal disease may be possible in rare situations
as with an aggressive lymphoma (but the owner said
that the ferret is otherwise well)
3. nutritional issues
4. skin issues including fleas, mites, and ringworm
(a fungus) and this particular vet said that she has
seen ringworm do this is kittens. (and the other
vet who replied privately also mentioned ringworm
as a possibility)

Both vets said that the kit definitely needs a veterinary
work-up.
