Subject: [ferrethealth] Tufts Protocol-Our Experience

Our ferret, Sugar was on the Tuft's Protocol for 27 weeks. She had only
one side effect, one time episode of vomiting and small GI bleed
controlled with Carafate and re-hydration. She survived for about a
year and a half post treatment and had a good quality of life. We were
faced with using this treatment option again recently. Our vet informed
us she is now using a lymphoma protocol that eliminates the IV chemo
used with Tuft's. All meds are SQ or IM. Unfortunately this was a very
aggressive lymphoma and euthansia was the only humane option. Anyone
