Subject: [ferrethealth] adrinal v bad spay
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

Hello,

I have looked at the archive and done some reashearch on line but i still h=
ave some questions :D

First a bit about my girl. Isla is 4 she will be 5 on april the 10th 2011, =
She came in to season for the first time june the year after she was born a=
nd was given the jab, the january after that she was spayed.

Last june her girl bits were a little puffy it went away on its own neather=
me or the vet had any idea. This year she came in to season, about 4 weeks=
ago now. The vet said at first that was not possible now we are thinking t=
here was eather tissue left behind from the spay or shes got adrinal.

The vet offerd my an ultra sound but said that sometimes are both effected =
so you cant compaire them sometimes they are swolen or shrunken or you just=
cant see a tumor but there is one there and that the tissue from the spay =
might be too small to see.

I met bob church a few years ago and he pritty much said the same thing ( I=
did have a ferret with adrinal then)

The vet told me that if it was tissue left from a spay the jill jab would w=
ork and it wont if its adrinal. While i was not sure if that was true we de=
cided to get her the jab anyways it was =A37.

Its only been a week today she got it 28th but thers no change.
I'm looking for advice on my next move, i have had the adrinal blood test c=
ome back inconclusive meny times and the scan could be the same so is it wo=
rh wasting money on them?

At the same time i dont want them to operate and open her up for nothing. E=
ather of those diagnosies could be treated with the implant and my vet does=
stock it but since shes only 4 adrinal surgery if shes got adrinal would b=
e the best option?
She has no other health issues her fur might be a bit thin. Her tail and bu=
m are still fliuffy though. Shes actaully less nippy just now shes not bitt=
en me once in the last month thts strange for her she loves the taste of my=
arms.

One other question redarding the implant does it desolve or does it need re=
omved when it gets replaced?

Thank you for reading and in advance of any replays :D
