Subject: [ferrethealth] Kidney/Renal Disease or Failure?

I've read the archives from beginning to end on this but am writing in case anyone has more info or ideas.
I have a 1 1/2 year old spayed female whose kidney values were perfectly normal six months ago. For the past couple of months she has had inconsistent stools which were worsened by stressful situations (i.e. vet visits). Helicobacter was suspected so she was treated for two weeks with Biaxin and Amoxicillin beginning June 14th. At that time she was eating Gerbers turkey with a little bit of either sweet potato or squash added to firm up the stools. She is now eating Gerbers turkey with pumpkin and Ferretvite. Her stools are much better and fairly consistent as long as she doesn't get any kibble or treats of any kind. I also add extra water because she still doesn't want to drink from a bottle or bowl and if I add Ferretone her stools start to get worse again. She seemed to be doing better and then her activity level decreased and she began gaining weight. Some days she looks and feels thinner, some days she looks and feels heavier. Blood work from Thursday indicates kidney di
sease and a urine specific gravity from Saturday shows she is not concentrating urine. A sample was sent for urinalysis but I may not know anything on that until late next week. She has an appetite and is not grinding her teeth. The vet will be gone until Thursday and told me to get more oral fluids into her. I left a message asking for a note to be placed in her file to allow me to pick up sub-q fluids if she appears to be getting worse but I've not heard back from the vet. I started adding Omega 3 fish oil and coq10 enzyme to her soup last night and ordered Epakitin and Azodyl. Hopefully they'll be here soon. I've included the abnormal blood values and usg below. Amylase and Lipase are normal. Phosphorus is normal at 4.6. I'm not concerned with the glucose since it wasn't tested immediately. What else should I be doing and could this have been acute onset from the Helicobacter treatment? Thank you.

Urine Specific Gravity 1.006 (1.003-1.030)

BUN 37 HIGH (10-33)
Creatinine 1.7 HIGH (0.2-0.8)
Hematocrit 72 HIGH (43-55)

Other abnormal values include:
RBC 13.5 HIGH (8.5-11.0)
HGB 21.7 HIGH (16.0-19.0)
MCH 16.1 LOW (16.5-20.0)
MCHC 30 LOW (32-35)
GLOBULIN 2.3 LOW (3.9-4.9)
GLUCOSE 72 LOW (80-120)
CHLORIDE 112 HIGH (90-110)

[Second post follows]

I lost my first email while writing it and somehow didn't
include in my second one that she is now eating Gerbers
turkey, pumpkin *and* a little bit of canned K/D. I plan to
add more K/D to the mix if it doesn't upset her GI tract.
Thanks again.
