That would be the correct placement. I believe the implants come with inst=
ructions.

My vet always mildly sedates with a them before implantation because the pr=
ocedure is painful without it. She uses 15 minutes of isoflorane gas.

I had one ferret who scratched at the site and it kept bleeding, created qu=
ite a mess by the time I got him back to the vet. He was given a diphenhyd=
ramine (benadryl) injection and they put surgical glue over the site and it=
healed no problem.
