Hiya,
Thanks for editing the post i know you are buisy and stuff.
I You know when you read things on line some people are miss guided so i ha=
ve heard that the left was arder to remove and the right so when the vet sa=
id left i thought she knew the truth. Never assume though i guess makes thi=
s all even harder. None of us are even on the pill or HRT or anything. If w=
e got for the op we could get her booked in for early next week, as early a=
s tuesday so she wont be left to much longer eather way it will eather be s=
urgery or implant.
Every time we have had the TN pannel its come bac inconclusive and it costs=
=A370 eatch time. So i could risk it and get it done again but im not sure=
if theres a point. Some people have suggested driving down to england to g=
et the treatmets she needs. I guess I'll have to see what the vets i phone =
say tomorrow.
And last but not least yes we started the investagation due to her coming i=
n to season when we knew she was spayed.
I'm trying to way up the risks and long tearm benifits for her for eatch ty=
pe of treatment and every one I have been asking on diffrent sites and all =
the things i have read, plus all the diffrent vets are telling me conflicti=
ng things. I will speak to vets tomorrow with the main aim to see who is wi=
lling and expearanced enough to do the surgery and see what their advice is=
.
If the adrinals are both removed ( though the vet said just the left is wha=
t she suggests) will Isla then need the implant after?
[If both adrenals need to come out completely
then she will lifelong need to have either
Fludrocort/Florinef and Prednisolone (usually
daily, both oral)
OR
Percorten and Prednisolone (usually about every
3 weeks for the Percorten injection and daily
for the oral Prednisolone)
to avoid a fatal Addisons Crisis.=20
If there is just debulking (some tissue remains)
then they may or may not be needed,or might be
needed temporarily. That is a matter of degree.
