Subject: [ferrethealth] Itchy Ferret
To: ferrethealth@yahoogroups.com

I noticed today that my ferret had been itchy.
So I took a closer look at him and noticed some fleas on him.

This is the first issue that we have had with him having fleas.
I know the fleas can get bad in this area in the summer and even more so after a good rain and I am thinking they hitched a ride with someone.
Because my only other animal is a cat and she does not go outside.

I was wondering if anyone knew if it is ok to use Neem protect shampoo or spray.
and it is the type for all pets.

The active ingredients are Neem oil, citronella oil, celery seed oil and eucalyptis oil.

The website says for ferrets and other animals. But I just wanted to make sure that I was going to use something that could hurt him..

Thanks in advance

[For fleas on ferrets don't risk over the counter products.

There are past vet posts on how to safely deal with this
